today is mom's birthday. Ada and I are having our first private lessons in Violin/Viola today. that should be fun. then we aer going to 'AV's Ristorante' in DC, whcih is closing down soon.

Hi Kolbe -- Did you like AV's? I'd heard it was closing, which makes me sad. It's a fun place and the food is good. It's old-fashioned, isn't it?
yes, it was wonderful there. their white pizza is excellent. i had the calamari con linguini, ada had lasagna, greg had spagetti with meatballs, dad had cacciatori, and mom had polenta with sausages. we all split a white pizza as an appetizer.
